For centuries, reaching the Golden Temple meant navigating claustrophobic alleys. That changed completely in 2021 with the inauguration of the massive Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor. Now, the temple is directly connected to the river Ganges (at Lalita Ghat) via a spectacular 50-foot wide pathway. It features clean waiting halls, an expansive courtyard, escalators for the elderly, and massive aesthetic stone archways.
The temple experiences massive crowds (over 1 Lakh visitors daily), so planning your timing is critical.
• General Darshan: Free and open to all. Timing is typically from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Expect waiting times of 1 to 3 hours depending on the season.
• Mangala Aarti: 3:00 AM to 4:00 AM. This is the most auspicious aarti of the day. Tickets must be booked weeks in advance.
• Bhog/Shringar Aarti: 11:15 AM to 12:20 PM.
• Sandhya Aarti: 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM.
• Shayan Aarti: 10:30 PM to 11:00 PM. (The temple closes immediately after).

Solutions: Free public lockers are available at the entrance checkpoints, but the lines for lockers can be as long as the Darshan line itself!
